General information:
Requirements
Have you already climbed a few routes indoors and done some belaying? Perfect – that’s all you need! Your climbing level doesn’t matter at this stage – what counts is your enthusiasm to get outside and climb on real rock.
Even experienced gym climbers will pick up plenty of new skills here – because sport climbing on natural rock is a whole different experience than in the gym.
In this course, we’ll show you everything you need for sport climbing outdoors: how to handle your gear safely, proper climbing and belaying techniques, the right way to behave in climbing areas, and lots of practical tips.
Schedule & Tour Info
Day 1 – Gear, Technique & Belaying on Real Rock
We start in the morning (around 9 am) at the course location. After a brief introduction, we’ll check the gear together and go over the plan for the next few days. Then it’s time to hit the rock: you’ll learn how to clip quickdraws properly, what to watch for when threading the rope at an anchor, and the key points to keep in mind when belaying outdoors.
Day 2 – Climbing Technique & Tips
On day two, it’s all about technique and confidence. We’ll build on what you learned on the first day and focus on moving efficiently and safely on rock using the right techniques.
You’ll also learn how to read a topo correctly to find and assess routes. On top of that, we’ll share plenty of practical tips for sport climbing outdoors – from proper behaviour in climbing areas to little tricks that make a big difference on natural rock.
Day 3 – Routine & Safety in Every Situation
The third day is dedicated to practice, repetition, and consolidation. You’ll climb more challenging routes, belay independently, and gain routine – so that your movements and workflows on rock feel natural.
We’ll also cover an important topic: what to do if something goes wrong. You’ll learn how to stay calm, respond correctly, and organise help in an emergency – knowledge that gives you extra confidence when climbing on your own in the future.

Accommodation & Stay
To get the most out of your course, we recommend staying near the course location. Options vary depending on the area:
Courses in Valle Argentina:
You won’t find large hotels or official campsites here, but there are plenty of charming alternatives. The best places to stay are in Badalucco, Molini di Triora, or Triora. Staying on the coast, e.g., in Arma di Taggia, is also possible – but it’s about a 45-minute drive to the climbing areas. We’re happy to help you find the right place.
Courses in Val Pennavaire / Oltrefinale:
Here, you can choose between the coast near Albenga or accommodations inland, e.g., around Vesallo or Colletta.
Courses in Finale Ligure:
Finale Ligure and Finalborgo offer a wide range of hotels, B&Bs, and apartments – from simple rooms to more comfortable stays.
