General information:

For this course, you should be an advanced sport climber with experience on real rock, including both lead climbing and seconding. You should also already be familiar with belaying in lead and top-rope situations on rock.

If you have these basics covered, you can fully focus on refining your technique and tactics and improving your belay skills – exactly what this course is designed for. The training can also be tailored to your individual goals.

Day 1 – Setting Goals & Improving Technique

We start in the morning (around 9 a.m.) at the course location. First, we go over the plan for the day and talk about your personal goals and expectations for the course.

Then it’s time for hands-on sport climbing training: you’ll work on your climbing technique, we’ll analyze your movement patterns, and you’ll learn how to climb more efficiently and safely on real rock. Another key focus is belaying technique – we’ll review all belay procedures and give you valuable tips to ensure safe and successful climbing days.

Day 2 – Consolidation, Tactics & Individual Focus

On the second day, we consolidate and deepen what you learned on day one. We’ll also look at climbing tactics to help you move more efficiently and confidently on harder routes.
You’ll have plenty of room to set individual priorities – whether it’s a specific climbing style, solving a crux, or questions about belaying. You’ll receive targeted feedback and practical exercises tailored exactly to your needs.

At the end of the day, you’ll head home with more confidence, greater routine, and improved technique – and maybe you’ve even sent that tricky route.

Included:

  • 2-day course with a certified climbing instructor
  • Use of group equipment (ropes, quickdraws, belay devices, etc.)
  • Equipment checklist to help you prepare
  • Insider knowledge & local expertise for the best course conditions
  • Individual support thanks to small group sizes
  • Rental equipment available on request, e.g. climbing harness or helmet (please specify when signing up)

Not included:

  • Travel to and from the course location and transfers
  • Accommodation
  • Meals (except for a small coffee at the crag 😉)
  • Personal equipment
  • Climbing shoes – must be brought by yourself
  • If available: bring your own climbing equipment (harness, rope, belay device, helmet, quickdraws, etc.)
To get the most out of your course, we recommend staying near the course location. Options vary depending on the area:

Courses in Valle Argentina:

You won’t find large hotels or official campsites here, but there are plenty of charming alternatives. The best places to stay are in Badalucco, Molini di Triora, or Triora. Staying on the coast, e.g., in Arma di Taggia, is also possible – but it’s about a 45-minute drive to the climbing areas. We’re happy to help you find the right place.

Courses in Val Pennavaire / Oltrefinale:

Here, you can choose between the coast near Albenga or accommodations inland, e.g., around Vesallo or Colletta.

Courses in Finale Ligure:

Finale Ligure and Finalborgo offer a wide range of hotels, B&Bs, and apartments – from simple rooms to more comfortable stays.

FAQs

Got questions? You might find the answer here – and if not, just drop us a message.

By default, courses are in English and German – and if needed, we can cover the key points in Italian as well.
Basic fitness and good health are enough. You should be sure-footed and comfortable with heights. Approaches to climbing spots are usually short (5–20 minutes), but we spend the whole day outdoors – learning, climbing, and having fun.
Before the course, we’ll provide a full equipment list. Group gear like ropes, quickdraws, and belay devices are supplied. Climbing harnesses and helmets can be rented if needed. Important: Please always bring your own climbing shoes.
Bring your own snacks and drinks. Simple foods like sandwiches, fruit, and plenty of water work best – after all, we’re outdoors all day.
Most courses take place in Valle Argentina. You’ll receive the exact meeting point in advance – either directly at the climbing area car park or we’ll start together, e.g., at a café. For courses in Finale Ligure or Val Pennavaire (Oltrefinale), you’ll also get all the details about the meeting point in good time.
You organise your own travel and transfers. On site, we’re happy to arrange carpooling – practical and more sustainable.
On average, a course day lasts about 6 hours – with breaks included. Depending on weather, content, and motivation, it can be a bit longer or shorter.
It can rain even in Liguria. We plan the course days flexibly around the weather. If a section of the course can’t take place, we’ll make it up later, or you’ll receive a partial refund. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
Participation is possible with written consent from a parent or guardian.
Want to bring someone along as a spectator? Just let us know in advance – usually no problem. If your companion is a dog, please inform us beforehand: some approaches aren’t suitable for dogs, and we also check with the group to make sure everyone is comfortable.
We recommend staying near the course location. Whether Valle Argentina, Finale Ligure, or Val Pennavaire – find relevant info under “Accommodation & Overnight Stay” for each course. Need help? Just get in touch!
